Stree 2 sells over 3.60 lakh tickets across the National Chains – Runs riot and targets Rs. 50 cr. box office on Day 1

  • by

The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-led Stree 2 is on an overdrive at the box office with tickets selling like hot cupcakes in the advance bookings. As of Wednesday at 2 PM, Stree 2 has sold approx. 3.65 Lakh tickets across the Top 3 national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – for the opening day including paid previews. The Dinesh Vijan production is targeting a final advance booking in the vicinity of 5 lakh, which is unheard of and unprecedented, to say the least.

There is a phenomenal demand for the film amongst the youth and family audience and the same is visible in the advance booking. Stree 2 is looking to collect in the range of Rs. 7 to 8 crores in the paid previews with another Rs. 40 crores on Independence Day, which means an All India Day One in the range of Rs. 50 crores.

The film is unaffected by the 3-way clash and is a one-horse race at the box office as Stree 2 will end up earning 5 times more than the combined total of Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa. The inside reports from the early screenings are on the positive side and if the audience response is the same, the sky is the limit as far as lifetime business is concerned.

Meanwhile, Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa continue to struggle at the advance bookings.
