Devara (Hindi) Box Office: Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor starrer is just fair on Friday

  • by

It was just a fair second Friday for Devara: Part 1 (Hindi) as the collections dropped further over Thursday collections of Rs. 2.40 crores. As it is the drop from Wednesday to Thursday was considerable and hence for the film to truly get back on track, the Friday jump needed to be substantial. Instead, it has gone down.

The collections came to Rs. 2 crores* but what it needed was a score in the range of Rs. 3-3.50 crores. Even that would have meant a drop of more than 50% when compared to first Friday of Rs. 7.95 crores, but still it would have set the base for rest of the weekend. In this case, since Thursday had seen collections going under Rs. 3 crores mark, the load had fallen on Friday, and that hasn’t helped. Now, all eyes are on how does Saturday turn out to be because the numbers most certainly need to cross Rs. 3.50 crores, so that a weekend of close to Rs. 10 crores can be scored. There is no competition whatsoever with Joker: Folie a Deux failing at the box office, which means Jr. NTR’s film has the stage and platform to score.

The film has now finally crossed the Rs. 50 crores mark and currently stands at Rs. 50.27 crores*. The aim would be to cross Rs. 57-58 crores by the close of weekend and while that would be difficult, it’s the need of the hour if the film is aiming at a lifetime in the range of Rs. 70 crores.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited

Note: All collections as per various box office sources
